Earned her PhD in criminology from the School of Criminal Justice at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, on the choice of verdict. After moving to Berlin, she has been leading projects at the Free University and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. Since 2015, she is a senior researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch, where she investigates summary proceedings, forensic science, and wrongful convictions. She held a guest professorship in forensic sciences, forensic psychiatry, and criminology at the Hermann von Helmholtz Center for Cultural Techniques, Humboldt University Berlin.
